This voyage was an unhappy one for the passengers. The first port of call was Melbourne, but on her way from there to New Zealand the ship lost propulsion and was drifting in the Tasman Sea for some hours, eventually being towed back to Melbourne by tugs. Four days of the scheduled itinerary were lost.
