Are Gratuities Becoming Cruisers Biggest Hidden Cost?

Your Next Cruise will Cost You Way More than Advertised! One Reason is that the Gratuities are starting to get way out of hand. Last I heard was a tip was for doing your job well, going above and beyond, and you get more by doing a good job. Now that Cruise lines are making them mandatory, it is starting to feel like they want us to pay for their employees. I always thought a tip depended on great service and was a bonus, not a mandatory guarantee... So when your $499 cruise pops up on your screen, you need to know what will be automatically added on to that fair. And at the end of the day, I want to know what you think of these tips being mandatory in the first place.
