Travel Tips For Novice Travellers: CRUISE & LAND combo Jordan, Spain Transatlantic + USA #travel

Hi, I’m Jules from Jules Cruise Companion, and today I’m taking you behind the scenes of a different kind of trip—it’s a land and cruise combo with multiple legs, countries, and climates! ✈️ Where I'm Going I’m kicking off this adventure with: 8 days in Jordan 🇯🇴 Then heading to Barcelona for 4 days 🇪🇸 Boarding the Norwegian Epic for a 13-day transatlantic cruise to Port Canaveral, Florida 🛳️ Spending some time in Florida with a friend 🌴 Visiting Tennessee for a few days 🎸 Then flying up to New York City for 4 nights 🗽 Finally flying home via Dubai 🕌—yes, it’s a 29-hour return trip, but it saved me $600, and I get to spend time with a friend and see a couple of shows! 🎒 Packing for 5 Climates & 3 Continents I’ve already packed one bag for my earlier Papua New Guinea cruise, and I’ll be “pirating” some of those items for this trip. I’m using my Kathmandu Hybrid 70L bag, which can expand to about 85L with the attachable daypack. Here’s what I’ve packed: Main Luggage (About 18–20kg) Scarves galore: I’m going to Jordan—8 days, so lots of scarf options! White outfits: I usually pack one white outfit, but I’ve got a few this time for special occasions. Pack cubes: Dresses & shirts (biggest cube, base of the bag) Undergarments, socks, bras Pants and leggings Swimwear, activewear, bike shorts Gift pack: Clothes and shoes for local children in Jordan Cruise party essentials: My famous inflatable flamingos, tiki dolls, and even a parrot—compact and perfect for themed nights. Carry-On (7kg) Puffer jacket, knitwear, and a lightweight coat, all vacuum-packed. New York in winter can be around 0–5°C! Travel meds (I’m on strong meds right now, so I have backups) US dollars, Jordanian dinar, and picking up euros today Important travel docs: flight info, visas, cruise declarations Shoulder bag for short outings 🏠 Leaving Home Ready Like always, before I leave: I clean the fridge, check expiry dates I scrub down bathroom #1—but this time I’ve cleaned the whole house because I’ve sold it! 🎉 When I return, I’ll be there only briefly. No TV, no dining table… just a bed. Next stop: new home with finished renovations. 🧳 Final Thoughts Before the Big Trip Packing this way keeps me flexible and light.
