Welcome to Episode 7 of our Mississippi River Vlog series.
In this episode, we start our New Orleans adventure by sailing beneath the glowing Crescent City Connection Bridge at night. By day, we savor beignets at Café du Monde, explore the vibrant floats of Mardi Gras World, and admire the stunning St. Louis Cathedral - the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic cathedral in the U.S. We wander through 18th century Jackson Square, and wrap up with a visit to a Voodoo museum, uncovering the city’s mystical roots. Join us as we explore the history, flavor, and spirit that make New Orleans one of the most unique cities in the world!

We explore the Gateway Arch’s museum and sweeping views, then met the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales—majestic, massive, and truly unforgettable.
Memphis, TN
We visit the Blues Hall of Fame, explore Beale Street, tour Elvis’s Graceland, and explore nearby museums showcasing Elvis’s iconic costumes and memorabilia.
It's here that we board American Splendor, our American Cruise Lines paddlewheeler riverboat for the cruise along the Mississippi to New Orleans.
Cleveland, MS
We visit the GRAMMY Museum Mississippi to explore music history, interactive exhibits, and legendary artist tributes.
Vicksburg, MS
We explore Vicksburg’s Civil War history at the National Military Park, visiting battlefield memorials and an ironclad still fairly preserved for its age. We also learn the city’s economic difficulties following a natural re-routing of the Mississippi River soon after the Civil War.
Natchez, MS
We tour the Frogmore Cotton Plantation and its historic cotton gin, learn about slavery, cotton farming, and hear authentic spirituals once sung by enslaved people.
St. Francisville, LA
We visit Port Hudson Historic Site to explore Civil War earthworks, battlefield history, and learn about the longest siege in American military history through trails and interpretive displays.
Vacherie, LA
We tour Oak Alley Plantation to walk its iconic oak-lined path, tour the antebellum mansion, and learn about the lives of enslaved people who lived and worked there.
New Orleans, LA
We visit Mardi Gras World to see vibrant parade floats, learn about carnival traditions, savor beignets at Café du Monde, go inside Jackson Square’s St. Louis Cathedral, and visit the Voodoo Museum in the French Quarter.
