This film follows a westbound transatlantic crossing from Southampton to New York aboard Queen Mary 2, told entirely through Captain Hashmi’s daily briefings.
There is no narration and no commentary.
The structure, rhythm, and story of the voyage are shaped solely by the Captain’s voice, as the ship departs England, crosses the North Atlantic via the great circle route, and arrives in New York at dawn after six days at sea.
Filmed across the entire passage, the video combines open-ocean sea states, weather, and daily life on board, with key moments including sailaway from Southampton, mid-Atlantic crossings, life on deck, the ship’s kennels and dog parade, gala night, and the approach to New York via the Statue of Liberty.
This is Part 1 of a two-part transatlantic series.
A return crossing from New York to Southampton will follow in a future release.
