Norwegian Breakaway | Mediterranean Cruise Day 6 | Rome | Colosseum Underground Tour | Roman Forum

Welcome to Day 6 of our 11 day holiday on board Norwegian Cruise Line's Breakaway cruise ship! We're Bob and Moose, a couple of Disney-obsessed adventurers from Yorkshire, UK, who just love to get out and about and explore! 👀 On the cruise, we travelled to: Cannes, Livorno (Florence), Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples (Pompeii), Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca. We started and ended the trip in the stunning city of Barcelona! On Day 6, we started the day (quite disastrously) running late on our bus from the ship into Rome. Arriving in Rome near the Vatican at 10:15 (which was our tour meeting time), we then SPRINTED the 3km distance to the Colosseum and miraculously made it in time to join our booked underground Colosseum tour, which is something we have wanted to do for years. We then went on the underground Colosseum tour, which was EXCEPTIONAL. Our tour guide was so informative and helpful, and touring the dungeons and underground tunnels was an incredible experience. Our tour also allowed us access to the Colosseum arena floor, where we got stunning views of the entire arena. We then ventured over to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and we used the tour guide app we used in Florence to complete a self-guided audio guide tour of some of the sights. We experienced stunning views of Rome from the top of the hill, and then walked to the Pantheon. Although we didn't have time to go into the Pantheon, we enjoyed looking at this amazing building from the square outside. Back on the ship, we had dinner at the Garden Cafe buffet before going to the atrium to watch one of the cruise staff game shows, which Bob participated in. We then both played Deal or No Deal with the Cruise Director before ending out night at Howl at the Moon, the duelling piano bar on board.
