How much did a three-day in an obstructed view stateroom on Carnival Luminosa in December of 2022 cost?
Before you Cruise you must have travel insurance. Travel insurance for me cost about $84. It is a cruise, so it must have an additional fee so that's about $5.40. I have a pre-existing condition so that was $25. I'm quite happy to pay $85.50 for travel insurance for a cruise.
I wanted to park it at Wilson's parking at the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal.
When I tried to book online for some reason it just wouldn't register.
To book online is a cheaper fee than if you drive up and pay just going through the gate.
I noticed today there were some vacant spots in all three car parks.
If you were driving to a cruise terminal you've got to park your car somewhere. This time I parked at Andrew’s Airport Parking and that was $159. I didn’t use the car cleaning or maintenance service this time.
I drove so I had to spend some money on some petrol and my average mileage is probably under 10 liters per Australian $20 for the petrol to get to the cruise terminal.
One of the components of a cruise fare is the port fees and taxes and for cruising out of the Brisbane International Cruise terminal the port fees and taxes are $96.
My balcony cabin I paid $63 for my obstructed-view cabin. $21/night.
In total, the fare for the cruise was $161. Taking out the port fees in taxes as I say leaves me accommodation the food and the entertainment that is free so divide that by three which is $60 per night. Which is cheaper than any hotel room on land with the food and entertainment included.
You say that I'm crazy! I am a pre-existing customer I'm over 55 & for some reason, there was a really great deal. I'm always one for a great deal.
Add up all those amounts port fees and taxes, petrol, parking, and the cruise that comes to about $325.
I don't know considering my onboard spending and because it's only three nights I'll only spend about a hundred dollars or less maybe a bottle of wine and some bingo so that'll get me to around $100.
That’s going to be $141 per night with no solo supplement
You wouldn't be able to find anything on land that compares to the prices that you can on a cruise ship.
