Last May, I had the privilege to capture the awe-inspiring' Independence of the Seas' as she majestically departed the port of Miami. The sight of this grand vessel passing by at such a close distance was truly a breathtaking experience. Not only was she a sight to behold, but being in her presence allowed me to truly grasp the immense scale of this ship. It's truly fascinating to consider that when she was launched in 2008, the Independence of the Seas reigned as the largest cruise ship in the world. The sheer size of this vessel, especially when compared to her younger sister, the colossal new largest cruise ship in the world, the Icon of the Seas, from where I was filming, is mind-boggling. It's unbelievable that so much change happened in just over a decade.
