For my final night aboard the Seven Seas Voyager, I chose to mark the occasion with a “last supper” at Prime 7, the ship’s signature steakhouse. As always, the dishes were cooked with precision—the lamb tender, the surf-and-turf satisfying—but once again the ingredients didn’t quite rise to the lofty “epicurean adventure” Regent so confidently markets. Delicious? Absolutely. Spectacular? Not quite. What did shine, as it consistently had all week, was the impeccable service: attentive without being intrusive, polished yet warm, the kind of hospitality that makes you feel genuinely cared for.
But the real surprise came after dinner. Expecting the usual quiet scene, I wandered into the Horizon Lounge around 10 p.m.—a time when the ship typically felt ready to tuck itself into bed. Instead, I stepped into a full-blown party. A lively crowd of fellow passengers filled the dance floor, moving with unexpected enthusiasm to the excellent live duo performing that night. The energy was infectious, the music fantastic, and the bar staff—always a highlight—kept the atmosphere buzzing.
It was proof that the appetite for late-night fun did exist on Voyager, raising the question: why did the Cruise Director insist on a “lights out at 10” schedule all week? Still, this final evening became one of my favourite memories—an unexpected burst of life that ended the cruise on a high note.
