Planning a cruise stop in port of Barcelona This video gives you the most useful and honest tips to enjoy the city like a local. From how tipping works to using the right plugs, how the Menu del Día works, the best ways to get from the port to the city centre and what to avoid during your visit. I also share cultural notes that most guides never mention and practical safety advice for cruise passengers.
If your ship docks at Moll Adossat, the Blue Bus Port Shuttle is the easiest way to reach the city centre. Barcelona does not have a US style tipping culture and one or two euros are more than enough for good service. Restaurants with “Menu” signs usually include starter, main course, dessert and a drink. The summer months are the most crowded and the hottest time of year. And remember that Barcelona and Catalonia have their own culture and traditions. Bullfighting is banned here and Gaudí was once arrested for speaking Catalan.
Pickpockets do exist in busy tourist areas, so keep your bag closed and call 112 if you need help. If you have more than one day before or after your cruise, consider visiting other parts of Catalonia because there is much more than Barcelona.
