Shannon from WDW Prep School shares 10 tips she wishes she’d known before her first Disney Cruise Line Alaska sailing from Vancouver, as she plans a last-minute May return trip.
She recommends arriving at least a day early (ideally a few days to enjoy Vancouver), booking a stateroom with a veranda for glacier and wildlife views, packing layers for big temperature swings, and bringing binoculars. She warns to budget for expensive excursions, notes Alaska sailings feature a Frozen-themed night instead of pirate night, and suggests packing a practical day bag for port days.
She highlights special Alaska-outfit character meets, encourages making time to enjoy the smaller Wonder/Magic ships, and advises booking activities - especially the popular glacier viewing boat excursion - as soon as booking windows open.
