Day 2 (Gran Canaria) Marella Explorer Christmas Cruise

Welcome to Gran Canaria. This is the first port on our Christmas cruise and we were looking forward to seeing the Christmas market. We left the ship for a bit to have a walk around the city of Las Palmas. We wondered around the Christmas market and fair. Was nice to see but we decided to come back later when it got dark. So we went for a walk along the seafront before heading back to the ship. We then went back out later but had a bit of a disappointment! The Christmas market and fair were shut due to an incident and we not reopen that evening. We did know what the incident was but glad everyone was ok, just very disappointing. We therefore went into the nearby mall to look at the lights before returning to the ship ready for sail away. Off to Lanzarote tomorrow.
