The Pacific Encounter was operated by P&O Cruises Australia, but in March 2025 P&O will cease to exist and so this ship will become part of the owner company called Carnival Corporation & plc. The Pacific Encounter will also have a name change to be called the Carnival Encounter.
We spotted this Cruise Ship on the afternoon of the 5th December 2024. At that time it was still the Pacific Encounter and still operated by P&O, which can still be seen on the side of it.
The ship was launched in May 2001 and was fully completed on the 25th January 2002. It was originally called the Star Princess, but changed its name to the Pacific Encounter in October 2020.
It can take a maximum of 2,600 passengers and has a crew of 1,100 people.
The first half of this video has us cruising pass Daydream Island in our Catamaran, before we come across the huge cruise ship in the second half of the video.
