Some years only a single cruise ship arrives at the Port of Anchorage. This year Holland America’s Westerdam is only the second cruise ship to dock in Anchorage so it is a special event.
It also lays claim to staying overnight for a second day having allowed its passengers time to disembark and travel by land to Interior Alaska’s Denali Park.
The ship has already sailed to Arctic Alaska by making it to Nome. As it heads back to Seattle where it will complete its 28 days on the water it will also visit Juneau and Canada’s Prince Rupert.
