Breaking News: Stupid MOM Arrested on Cruise Ship, One DEAD after Ship Collision, & More
Bad behavior on cruise ships is unfortunately not uncommon—but it becomes especially disturbing when children are involved.
Paetra Ann Grandsberry, a 38-year-old woman, was arrested by authorities with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office when her ship, Carnival Conquest, returned to PortMiami on Monday, December 22, following a three-night cruise to Celebration Key, Carnival’s private destination on Grand Bahama Island.
According to local media reports, Grandsberry was traveling with her sons and became enraged after discovering that they had allegedly been assaulted by other young passengers.

While speaking with members of the ship’s security team, Grandsberry reportedly noticed a group of teenagers running nearby and assumed they were the individuals who had attacked xher children.
Authorities allege that she chased the group, tackled one boy to the ground, and grabbed him by the collar. A deputy’s report states that Grandsberry later claimed she accidentally fell on top of the child.
The boy managed to break free and ran to a nearby family member. He told police that he began running only because he saw other children running and believed there might be a safety issue. He said he was not involved in any assault on Grandsberry’s sons.

Celebration Key was the ship’s only port of call on the voyage. Carnival Conquest carries approximately 2,980 passengers. The altercation occurred on December 21, 2025—the same day the ship visited the private destination. Law enforcement reports do not specify whether the alleged attack on Grandsberry’s sons took place onboard the ship or at Celebration Key.
The boy who was tackled was not injured, but authorities contacted Florida’s Department of Children and Families on his behalf.
When Carnival Conquest docked at PortMiami on disembarkation day, December 22, 2025, Grandsberry was taken into custody. She was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami after a local judge found probable cause to support a charge of child abuse.
It remains unclear what happened to Grandsberry’s sons after she was removed from the ship. It is also unknown whether she was detained onboard in any way following the alleged incident.
