A fantastic tender port of Kiriwina. I bought 2 ebony walking sticks.
Morning Rainbow & Tender Port Adventure at Kiriwina Island | Papua New Guinea Cruise Vlog
Not sure if you can see it, but there’s a beautiful rainbow at sea this morning! It’s a bit of a rough walk with windy, overcast weather as I head to Kiriwina Island, Papua New Guinea. I started my walk from the 12th deck of the Pacific Pearl around 5:45 am, pushing through the wind, and was greeted by this stunning double rainbow — a magical sight that promises water in the atmosphere and a special start to the day.
Kiriwina Island is a tender port with a population of about 12,000 people, covering roughly 291 square kilometers. It’s known for snorkeling, diving, and fishing — perfect for a tropical island visit. Today, I’m finally getting off the ship here; last time it rained and we couldn’t stop.
I share some tips about tendering — you need to be agile enough to handle stairs and the boat boarding process, which is something to consider when booking itineraries with many tender ports.
I also show you my ebony walking sticks — one carved as a bird of paradise and the other as a topless woman — which I’ll declare at customs when I arrive back in Australia.
Thanks for joining me on this adventure at the beautiful Kiriwina Island. Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more travel vlogs!
