Cocktail time on the Norwegian Jade. In this episode, Elliott from Now Go See It does a full ship bar crawl and reviews the specialty cocktails (plus the zero-proof mocktail menu) across the Norwegian Jade. If you’re cruising on NCL and you want to know what’s worth ordering, what’s a pass, and where to find each bar, this video is basically your drink menu walkthrough with honest ratings.
What you’ll see in this video
We bounce between the ship’s main cocktail spots and order the signature drinks from each menu. Some are legit great, some are fine, and a few are the kind of drink you regret ordering by the second sip. Along the way we break down what’s in each cocktail (gin, vodka, Aperol, elderflower, prosecco, etc.), what it tastes like, and who it’s for.
Bars covered on Norwegian Jade
We hit Magnums Champagne & Wine Bar (martini menu and dessert martinis), Jasmine Sake Bar (sake plus bartender-made specialties), The Great Outdoors Bar (Sail & Sustain / sustainable cocktails), the Martini Bar (mocktails and zero-proof options), Tankards Whiskey Bar (bourbon + whiskey cocktails and Old Fashioned variations), and Sugarcane Mojito Bar (classic and fruit-forward mojitos).
Drinks reviewed (a sample of what’s in here)
Citrus Gem, French Raspberry, Apple Blossom, Le Fizz, Basil Cucumber Twist, Lavender Patch, Rum Cake Martini, Chocolate Martini, Wasabi Teeny, Cucumber Cool, El Padrino, Croissant Mai Tai, Prima Donna, Rosy Splash, Nojito, Sangria Roja, Walk the Lemon, Spiked Whiskey, Sunny Monk, Jackhammer, Bliss Boulevardier, Spicy Passion Mojito, and Pineapple Coconut Mojito.
Helpful pricing / planning tip
The mocktails on board are priced at $15, which is the same price as many regular cocktails. If you plan to order multiple zero-proof drinks every day, run the math against the NCL drink package before you sail so you don’t get surprised on your final bill.
Not sponsored
We paid for these drinks and we’re rating them like regular cruise guests. Your bartender, your sailing, and your taste buds may vary, but this should give you a solid starting point if you’re deciding between pay-as-you-go and the beverage package, or if you just want to avoid spending $15 on something you won’t finish.
Quick bar-by-bar breakdown
Magnums Champagne & Wine Bar is where we start with the martini-style menu. If you like gin and citrus, you’ll see how the Citrus Gem lands. If you’re a French Martini person, the French Raspberry is the closest match, and we talk about how a flavored vodka would change it. We also hit the dessert martinis here, and one of them ends up being the clear winner of the dessert in a glass category.
Jasmine Sake Bar is attached to Jasmine (the ship’s sushi spot), and it’s the kind of place where the bartender may have a couple specialty drinks that don’t show up on a printed menu. We try a sake-based cocktail that looks wild but ends up being one of the best-tasting drinks on board, which is exactly the kind of surprise you want on a cruise.
The Great Outdoors Bar is at the aft of the ship, and it’s where we try items from the Sail & Sustain menu. These are the drinks that sound good on paper, then sometimes go off the rails once you taste them. You’ll see which ones are worth ordering again and which ones should stay a one-time experiment.
At the Martini Bar, we switch gears and test the Norwegian Jade mocktail program. Not everyone wants alcohol all the time (and some of you are doing a dry cruise), so we treat these like real drinks, not an afterthought. There are some solid zero-proof options here, and we call out what’s balanced vs what’s too sweet.
Tankards Whiskey Bar is open in the late afternoon (around 4:00 p.m. most days). If you like bourbon, rye, or anything Old Fashioned-adjacent, this is the bar you’ll probably end up at. We cover both the batch cocktails and the bartender-mixed drinks, plus which flavor profiles are more bitter, more sweet, or more citrus-forward.
Sugarcane Mojito Bar is the sweet end of the tour. If you love mint, lime, and fruit flavors, you’ll see which mojitos are worth repeating and which ones are just okay. We also talk about how strong they taste compared to how sweet they drink, which matters when you’re ordering in the sun and not paying attention.
Heads-up
Menus and availability can change by sailing, and sometimes a garnish or ingredient is missing, so consider this a real-world Norwegian Jade drink review, not a perfect lab test.
