I have been looking over those itineraries that are coming to Australia.
I am excited that hopefully this time some of them will stick to Carnival.
Spirit was moved out & they are going to bring Carnival Splendor.
I’m looking forward to that because I’ve got some Carnival credit.
P&O has just brought back Pacific Explorer.
Let's have a look at other cruise ships such as Princess and what they're going to be doing here in Australian waters in 2022.
Cruising out of Australia hasn’t happened and it’s been depressing.
How has it changed?
I’ve only had two cruises cancelled.
Let’s look at how Princess Cruise Line is going to service Australian cruise passengers.
We're going to have at least 4 Princess Cruise Line ships coming into Australia:
Coral Princess (I have seen her I can’t remember whether it was Miguel lock or gather unlock on the trans-Panama I was on a Norwegian STAR, and she was in the opposite lock. We got to see the passengers holding up their signs, Save Me My Wife Has Kidnapped Me, or We Love All Cruising)
Coral will do 2- to 28-day itineraries anything from Queensland to Tasmania, New South Wales & around Australia.
She’ll relocate via Hawaii Tahiti and the Pacific islands in about May and September of 2023.
We will have her for most of 2022 & she'll probably do that itinerary in about March of 2024.
There is going to be some linking into an around-the-world portion of the itinerary where in 2023 around June.
I think she is pretty sold out as a segment will go to Dubai, probably linking her into an around-the-world segment.
I can see within the 2024 basic itinerary that I have Coral Princess coming back to Australia from Rome around April of 2024. Coral Princess is only on loan to us for the shortest period.
Royal Princess, I have been on her out of Rome, she will visit as a pit stop with a two-night repositioning from Brisbane to Sydney. Then four-to-seven-night itineraries out of Sydney to Sydney. She will head a way around in around the world and normally her link is probably up to Japan to Yokoyama.
Grand Princess will also do a pit stop here in Australia but only for the shortest period of time in November of 2022. She'll do a bit of a Sydney to Melbourne leg and then she'll head off. She'll also revisit in October of 2023, once again it's a Sydney to Adelaide but it'll be a Sydney to Melbourne as part of an around-the world.
Majestic Princess is the next one that's going to spend any core time here in Australia. She'll be doing 19-, 11-, 8- or 13-day itineraries. She'll be out of Sydney of course. I love Brisbane but Sydney always gets the core anchor port, the home port for any of these visiting ships. She will head off in 2023 and back to Hong Kong in about March. Once again it's a seasonal event so she will come one way she will have one way around to Adelaide and Sydney. I have been on Majestic Princess but I don’t think so I’ve been on Royal Princess.
Island Princess is going to come out of Southampton around the world and visit Australia, I’m hoping that in January of 2024, there may be a visit from Island Princess. I know she's going to be heading from Sydney to Dubai in probably around November of 2023. I’ve looked at so many itineraries lately that maybe I’ve got that wrong. It's part of an around-the-world 111 days probably around April and May she'd be visiting here in Australia.
Do we care? As long as we are cruising!
Cruising starts again. Isn't that exciting to see that Princess Cruise Lines have locked in at least a few itineraries?
We have got Coral Princess located in Australia for at least the year and then we have some other Majestic, Island & Grand visiting over the course of the year as part of their one-way itineraries isn't that exciting.
The Australian cruise industry is in such flux currently.
I would really love to share with you your experiences.
I can share with you my experiences of my 36 cruises around the world.
I’ve only circumnavigated three times, and that's okay.
We can always share stories.
The Australian cruise calendar has started, and I can't wait to start packing my bags
