While in Vanuatu we visited Santo and Port Villa. We did a horseriding tour, a cultural village experience and a quad bike tour.
The absolute highlight of our Vanuatu trip was by far the horse riding tour at Santo Horse Adventures. The private tour for our family cost $500. This included pick up and drop off from our cruise ship, 1.5-2 hour horse ride and icey cold fresh coconuts.
The kids were able to help feed their new little orphaned foal and they even gave each of the kids a horse shoe from the horse each of them rode.
Santo Horse Adventures is a horse sanctuary that care for a large amount of horses. Only a handful of these horses can be ridden.
Our kids have not stopped talking about this amazing experience. Particularly riding through the mangrove in the most amazing clear water. The mangrove then opened up to a gorgeous beach. This tour is a must do in Santo.
The Ekasup Cultural Village was the only tour we organised through the cruise ship. It cost our family around $300. This was a great experience to see how these amazing people used to hunt, fish, cook, and live their lives. There was aa fair amount of talking and by the end out kids were tuning out and starting to get bored.
The Adventure Quad Tours in Port Villa cost our family $ 280 for a 1.5 tour. This didn't include the 30-minute trip to the bikes and the 30-minute trip back. We were lucky we didn't book a longer tour or we wouldn't have made it back to the ship in time.
This tour was really exciting for the kids but very messy. We had no idea there would be so much mud until we arrived and saw the quad bikes completely covered in mud. The tour guide loved spraying us all in mud as well, which we didn't mind but could put people off if they were not expecting it. We were taken to a beautiful river where we could wash up. Even so, we had people pointing at us and asking what happened when we artive back to the ship dripping wet and covered in mud stains.
