Where to park when using the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal at Pinkenba
I've cruised out of the Brisbane international cruise terminal on Brisbane-to-Brisbane cruises and a one-way cruise from Brisbane to Sydney where we returned by plane.
Let’s look at a few different parking options
Wilson’s 3 car parks are on site. You can book Wilson’s car parking via the app. The dates open 3 months from the sail date, so book early to get the closest car park under some shade.
The Wilson’s car park closest to the terminal is more expensive with number 3 being the cheapest.
For a short cruise, this option may be reasonable. Though for longer 7+ night cruises you might consider other undercover parking options.
Park and ride services such as Andrew’s Airport Parking or Portside Parking. With these services, you leave your car in a secured lot and they shuttle you to the cruise terminal. Depending on the length of stay, undercover or outdoors, and the services, it will cost over $130+ for a 3-night cruise.
You also get the opportunity to avail yourself of other services such as car cleaning or car servicing.
You have the option of undercover or open-air parking
When I did a one-way cruise out of Brisbane and flew back into Brisbane, I decided I
was going to undercover long-term parking in the domestic airport parking. Booking online the weekend rate was $29. Then to get to the cruise terminal by taxi cost over $40. It was very close to the taxi rank. There were maxi-taxis for large parties.
The total was around $80.
I ended up taking a taxi for several different reasons
UBER potentially, if it's not going to be a reasonable expense for them or a reasonable charge for them, the UBER has the capacity to cancel your booking. I didn't want to be left at the airport knowing that the ship was only 25 minutes away but had no capacity to get there.
I had also heard that taxi drivers don't like going to the air cruise terminal.
As once they get to the cruise terminal, there's very little chance of getting a fair to come back anywhere else, so not a super option to get stuck.
There is no public transport even though there have been about two years where the Brisbane City Council could have instigated or formulated some form of public transport. A bus to that international cruise terminal from the domestic airport. The roads around the international cruise terminal aren’t maintained,
It is not a good look for international visitors to end up arriving at the Brisbane international cruise terminal and driving over the potholes that are currently on the road.
Stay Safe & Happy Travels.
