The cruise is booked.
The bags are packed now it's time for the embarkation day.
These are my embarkation day rituals.
On the day I am heading onto a cruise this is what I do.
Once I’m packed and ready for the cruise, it's the last couple of days.
What I will do is I will make a couple of meals and put them into the freezer. When I come back.
I’m very tired and I’ve had all this luxury of wonderful food while I’m away on a cruise, the last thing I want to do is prepare meals.
I’ve got a couple of meals in the freezer to have when I come back.
The other thing that I do in relation to the kitchen is making sure that I sweep through my refrigerator.
I take away any perishables that I don't need that are going to expire while I’m away. This next cruise is a short cruise, so there's not going to be very much for throwing away.
Then it's also important to make sure that the pet sitter is still ready.
Check there are no cancellations or changes.
Depending on the length of your trip, you might want to do a mail redirection.
Make sure that somebody collects your mail. If it's only for a short cruise that really doesn't matter.
The other thing is to make sure that you have all of your electronic goods charged.
If you use battery power packs, which I do a lot because I do a lot of recordings.
Make sure all your battery packs are charged and ready to go.
The other thing that I particularly choose to do on that final morning when I’ve taken out the rubbish, I will go around I will do a sweep of all the electrical light switches.
I make sure that I’ve unplugged everything, and switched them off. I make sure that there are no hazards going to be left on while I’m away.
The last thing that I’m going to check off my list is done I have enough petrol in the car to get me to the cruise terminal or to the airport.
Is my transport booked to get me to the cruise terminal?
For me, this time it's the car parking service, where I’m going to have the car cleaned for when I come back.
This is my last step before I check that I have my tickets, passport, and money.
I head for the door; I make sure I’ve got my set of keys ready to head however I’m going to be getting to the cruise.
Whether you are doing to use a taxi, a friend, or whether it's by driving yourself.
Passport, ticket & money.
Once you've packed your car.
I do one last sweep just in case you've left anything behind.
The last thing you want to do is leave something on the kitchen bench that may be important such as medication or something of that nature.
Passport, tickets & money.
Cruises are booked, and bags are packed and ready for embarkation day.
Stay Safe & Happy Travels.
