Day 2 on Ovation of the Seas took us to Penang, Malaysia! We had the perfect strategy: beat the crowds with an early disembarkation, hunt down the world's longest cafe, and end the day with a sunset ride on the North Star. We found amazing Tiramisu and hidden temples in George Town, but our evening back on the ship turned into a nightmare. Despite having a confirmed booking on our App, the North Star crew denied us boarding due to a disorganized manual paper list system. It was a shocking failure of service for Royal Caribbean.
