Day 5 of this cruise brought us to the town of Sydney on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
I decided to take an excursion to the Fortress of Louisbourg which was originally built by the French between 1720 and 1740. The original fortress was destroyed by the British about 20 years later during the Seven Years War though a garrison remained until about 1785. The current fortress is a recreation of the original based upon archival records and was mostly built in the 1960s and 70s.
Video was captured using an Insta360 ONE X2 and photos with an iPhone SE.
