With P&O Cruises, Princess, and Carnival cancelling all sailings until mid-April 2022, Aussie cruisers are once again left waiting—and wondering. So what is happening with cruising here? 🚫 Cancellations Continue: P&O, Princess, and Carnival have paused all Australian cruises until at least mid-April 2022. 🌍 International Cruise Impact: Even in regions like the Caribbean, some cruise ships are being denied entry to ports due to high COVID case counts on board—reminding us that restarting cruising is complex, even in places where it's already begun. ⚓ Cruises to Nowhere? One possible upside for Australia: we may see the return of “cruises to nowhere,” something other countries can’t easily offer due to maritime regulations. 🛳 What This Means for Aussie Cruisers: When cruising does resume, we can expect some teething issues, but there’s reason to feel hopeful. We've seen successful restarts in the Mediterranean, UK, and United States—and Australia has the chance to apply those lessons locally. 🧼 Staying Cruise-Ready: Let’s continue taking basic precautions: ✅ Get vaccinated ✅ Keep safe distances ✅ Wear a mask in enclosed spaces ✅ Wash those hands!
