When Seven Seas Voyager® docks in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, you don’t need a full day to fall in love with this sun-kissed city—half a day is plenty to capture its vibrant flavour. Step off the ship and you’re immediately surrounded by that unmistakable Canary Island warmth: golden light, palm-lined avenues and the gentle hum of locals going about their day.
With just a few hours, I like to start in the historic district of Vegueta, the charming old quarter where colourful façades, cobbled streets and leafy squares invite you to wander without a plan. Don’t miss the impressive Cathedral of Santa Ana—its twin towers dominate the skyline and the square is perfect for photos. From there, stroll towards Calle Triana, the city’s stylish shopping street, dotted with boutiques, cafés and pastry shops ideal for a quick coffee stop.
If you’d rather stay seaside, head straight to Las Canteras Beach, just a short taxi ride away. It’s one of Europe’s best urban beaches, with a long waterfront promenade where you can enjoy a walk, grab a fresh fruit juice or simply breathe in the Atlantic breeze.
Whether you choose culture or coastline, Las Palmas is effortless, friendly and wonderfully easy to enjoy—even in just half a day.
