Carnival Splendor Journey Cruise - Lombok Indonesia - Gili Islands Snorkel Tour

Today, the Carnival Splendor arrived at the Island of Lombok, Indonesia. There were plenty of shore excursions to book through Carnival, but we opted to book our own tour directly with a local operator. This is always a concern as a Carnival-sanctioned tour will work with the Tour operators to ensure passengers get back to the ship on time before it leaves port. However, they assured us they did these tours for Cruise passengers regularly and guaranteed we would get back in time. They were fantastic, we had an incredible day and even got back to the ship earlier than anticipated. The tour operators are called Niqi Lombok Tours. Here's a link to their website: https://niqilomboktour.com/ We would thoroughly recommend them. The day started with running the gauntlet of tour operators waiting outside the Cruise terminal. We were a little early, but our Guide Ojie turned up right on time. After that, it was a 75-minute air-conditioned car ride to the Port at Teluk Nare. We then boarded a boat (glass bottomed) to the Gili Islands. First Gili Meno Island to snorkel at the "Nest" underwater statues, which was ridiculously busy. Then we continued to enjoy the fantastic coral and fish. The highlight of the day was the numerous Sea turtles. I got some of the best Turtle footage I've ever captured. Then we moved on to Gili Trawangan (Gili T) for lunch and beers. The Gili Islands are an absolute paradise.
