Even if you have a drinks package it does not always cover things like smoothies and milk shakes. If you have children that like milky drinks, or if you like a delicious fruit smoothie to cool off during the day, then these can work out quite expensive over the course of the cruise.
However, by taking your own blender on board you can whip these up yourself in less time than it would take to order one by using the fruit, milk and yoghurts that are already provided in your cruise fare.
Ah, but can I take a blender on board, I hear you say. Yes, you can. Modern USB blenders that you can charge from the USB ports in your cabin or even a powerbank can do this for you, and you can safely take them on board as they do not fall under the majority of cruise lines prohibited items (always check with the relevant cruise line before taking one on board though).
In this video we put the Blendjet 2 through its paces on the P&O Pacific Encounter and make a mixed fruit smoothie from items readily available from The Pantry.
We are not sponsored by Blendjet and they did not provide this blender for us. We bought it ourselves. However, we did find it to be a great little blender and here is a link if you wanted to check it out. They come in some pretty funky colours and patterns too.
