The vessel, now known as Exploris One, previously sailed for Silversea as Silver Explorer before being sold to French operator Exploris. That company entered liquidation late last year, forcing the ship onto the auction block. Carnival Cruise Line is warning guests sailing from PortMiami this Saturday to expect heavy traffic and possible delays. A planned 5K race near the port will trigger road closures along the MacArthur Causeway and surrounding streets during peak embarkation hours. Carnival has alerted guests booked on Carnival Conquest and Carnival Horizon to allow extra travel time. Port of Galveston has secured more than 8 million dollars in new grant funding to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety as cruise traffic continues to surge.
