What kind of food did you expect if you were on Carnival Luminosa out of Brisbane in
December of 2022. Fairly set menus, some short hours of dining & one I'm really excited to see a restaurant that's only open for two & a half hours every day.
Complimentary dining which one I thought was the best?
You get access to the main dining room by using the HUB app.
Look for the food & dining section
Then you push that you are wanting a reservation if you have any time dining during these times.
You can see the menu
Once you have been allocated your table you will receive a notification.
I just press the make a reservation as I was leaving my cabin by the time that I got to the Vala dining room, 2nd, or sat outside for a couple of minutes, I'd received notification of my reservation of my table being available.
With the menu being available on the app you can see the menu at any time, so you don’t have to delay your food ordering once you get to the restaurant.
A couple of screenshots of the different sections of the menu breakfast menu & brunch menu
Some screenshots of a few of the different menu selections, the cold-pressed juices had an additional fee & some of the better-quality coffee that is served both at breakfast & in the evening comes at an additional cost.
On all the menus there is a variety of different products that will cater to all tastes.
The children's specific menu.
The brunch, the sides & the desserts.
I never got to eat those because I was so full of the food that I had eaten.
This is the disembarkation day breakfast which was just basically a set menu.
This was a brunch one which is the Voyager burger, the French toast, which was a bit soggy but very delicious, and the skillet pancake which was amazing.
Moving into the evening menu, the variety available on the evening menu had an additional cost that came from the steakhouse like the surf & turf.
If you're going to treat yourself maybe that is an option for you.
There are vegetarian options, if you want additional Halal, Kosher or vegan food just give the cruise line two months’ notice, so they can get additional food in that will suit you.
The meatballs were very flavorsome, though they were a little cool.
The pate was very coarse, came with a bit of a soggy crouton,
Prawn entree
Standard house steak
Chicken Parmigiana
Steak, medium rare with pepper sauce.
Desserts never disappointed that was kind of like a Tiramisu, cheesecake, lava cake type.
Ice cream is available almost most of the time if the machines are working out on the open deck.
Buffet style dining, dining's times were very short, so it wasn't uncommon to see that the food service was not available.
Additional fee food, the sushi & of course Fahrenheit 555
If you are having a celebration, it is well worth having this specialty dining experience.
The price for the Italian
My favorite and I think the best complimentary food was the barbecue area back here in the AFT section near the serenity area.
When I get to Luminosa facing the barbecue restaurant here on Luminosa
Some people have always got something to say about the food on a cruise ship but I would always say if you can't cook any better than what you are eating & you've got nothing to complain about.
