🌅🍽️ Sunset Cruise with Michelin Guide in Cebu | Celebrating the Philippines’ Big Culinary Milestone
Toward the end of 2025, I had the privilege of joining a special sunset cruise from NUSTAR Cebu to the Mactan Channel together with our friends from the Michelin Guide, the Department of Tourism, and several international food influencers.
The cruise wasn’t just about the beautiful Cebu sunset — it was a celebration of a historic moment for Philippine cuisine: the country’s entry into the Michelin Guide.
For decades, the Michelin Guide has been considered one of the most respected restaurant rating systems in the world. Founded in France in 1900, it now evaluates thousands of restaurants globally — and for the first time, the Philippines officially entered the guide, putting our culinary scene on the international stage.
Even more exciting for us Cebuanos:
✨ Several restaurants from Cebu made the Michelin Guide list
✨ A number of them even earned the prestigious Bib Gourmand recognition, which highlights restaurants serving high-quality food at great value
It’s a huge recognition for the growing strength of Cebu’s dining scene and the creativity of Filipino chefs.
During the cruise, I also got the chance to chat with some of the visiting international food influencers. We exchanged stories about the best restaurants in their home cities, and it was fascinating to hear how Cebu’s culinary scene compares to dining capitals around the world.
To cap the evening, we returned to NUSTAR Resort & Casino Cebu for a memorable dinner at Mott 32, one of the resort’s signature restaurants known for its refined Chinese cuisine and elegant dining experience.
It was truly a night that celebrated:
