A ship we haven't seen on our San Francisco Bay camera before now, or on our New York Harbor or even Baltimore cameras, P&O Cruise's Arcadia arrived during sunrise on January 25, 2025, as part of a 2 day stay there! The Arcadia came to San Francisco as part of a 24-day one-way cruise that eventually takes her all the way to Sydney, Australia! The Arcadia is the second smallest of 7 ships currently in service with P&O Cruises and has a mast that's similar to the ones seen on Cunard's Queen Mary 2, who is frequently seen on our New York Harbor camera! Another fun fact about this ship is that in 2003, In 2003 she was allocated to Cunard Line to become their Queen Victoria. Shortly before her launch though, the decision was made to transfer the ship to the P&O Cruises fleet. We won't see this ship on any of our cameras again until next February but we sure did enjoy her company in San Francisco for 2 days and can't wait for her return! She really put on a show when she departed on January 26, with beautifully colored lights that shone on the water like glittering diamonds!
