We Weren’t Ready for What Happened in Palermo… 🇮🇹 Day 6 Inaugural Star Princess Voyage

Star Princess maiden voyage took an unexpected turn the moment we stepped into Palermo, Sicily. We decided to skip the organized tours and walk straight off the ship to see what this historic port really had to offer — and it didn’t take long before the surprises started rolling in. Right at the port entrance we found a line of local excursion providers, and other options for transportation. We break it all down so cruisers have an idea of the costs of things in Palermo. From there, we wandered deeper into the city and found the flavors Palermo is famous for — the iconic Sicilian cannoli and the original arancini rice ball, both created here centuries ago. We share what we paid, how they tasted, and why this ended up being one of our favorite food moments of the entire voyage. And then came the showstopper… the Palermo Cathedral. This place is jaw-dropping in person — layers of Arab, Norman, Gothic, and Baroque architecture all woven together over nearly 900 years.
