This cabin should be avoided! It is located in the front of the ship directly below the Encore theater service room and bathroom area which creates a lot of noise throughout the day and night. It is also directly across the hall from the service room that cabin stewards use at all times of the day which adds to the noise. It's probably the worst cabin we have ever stayed in of 30+ cruises.
When we arrived to our cabin, we found it was not cleaned properly. It seemed our cabin steward just didn't put much effort into our cabin. There were clean towels, but we found toothpaste in the sink, a dirty bathroom wall, trash in the closet and dirty socks found in one of the drawers and in one of the closets. The bathroom door would not lock and it creaked horribly; and the sink in the main bathroom was spewing water everywhere. The bathroom door and sink were finally repaired the last sea day after I submitted a 2nd notification of those problems. The carpet had not been vacuumed, and the mattress closest to the entrance was in horrible shape with springs sticking out and a huge dip in the middle. It had to be replaced by the crew before we could go to sleep. I will say that the floor supervisors Juna Mae and Boris were both friendly and accommodating, quickly tending to our mattress and making sure our cabin was thoroughly cleaned. I really hate to be a complainer or focus on the negative, but I also have to mention we were given the priority front desk number to call whenever we heard the obtrusive noise we reported from directly above so they could come investigate (their idea, not mine), and we encountered a horribly rude female on our final night. I won't publish her name here, but it starts with a T and she is from the Dominican Republic. We discovered exactly why she works the graveyard shift rather than the busy daytime. She was dismissive and domineering...very unprofessional and not at all the personality meant to serve guests. I won't go into all the details, but if she worked for me and treated my customers the way she treated us, she would be immediately released. Aside from her and really poor bar service in the casinos a majority of the time, all other encounters with Carnival staff were pleasant and positive.
Overall, we really enjoyed our cruise, even with our worst cabin yet and an encounter with "Guest Services" that left us shocked. One thing I have to mention as a huge positive is that Carnival seems to have FINALLY figured out an efficient embarkation/debarkation process in Galveston. There is a new debarkation process that is done from the Hub APP, and it makes things so much more efficient. We were in our car driving home before 8:30 AM. Well done Carnival! :-)
