Come with us as we spend 7 nights on Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas to the South Pacific.
We have visited the South Pacific on may cruises and always enjoy going back. Noumea is one of our favourite places in the South Pacific, we will show you our favourite patisserie, and Anse Vata beach which is our favourite spot to visit, walk along the beach and do some shopping.
We also visit Mystery Island in Vanuatu. This is an uninhabited island and the locals will come over when cruise ships dock to bring food and drinks for cruisers. They also provide shore tours you can book such as massages, glass bottom boats, snorkelling, stand up paddle boarding and much more. There are fresh lobsters you can buy and eat by the beach. The Island is so small you can walk all the way around it in about 30 minutes. It also has an airport and its own runway. A very cool place to visit. We love it. We will show you our secret spot where we like to snorkel. Its a great spot as the once you get in the current will just take you along as you discover all the wonderful coral.
The Voyager of the seas is the first of the "Voyager" class ships. She is a very elegant ship, well designed and easy to navigate. Her size is larger than some other cruise ships leaving Brisbane but she is not as big as the Quantum or Oasis class ships by Royal Caribbean. We have also sailed previously on the Explorer of the seas in 2017. She is identical to the Voyager but did not have the Waterslides at that time, so the addition of those was very fun.
Her capacity is a whopping 3800 passengers and our cruise was sadly at full capacity so the ship was pretty busy. However, it was never difficult to find a seat at the buffet, get some pizza, find a seat at a bar or venue and joining onboard activities and attending shows was always easy. We even got the very front seats at both of the shows we saw during our cruise.
Although the ship is showing her age, unlike other older ships we have been on, this one is still elegant and classy. On the inside she has been very well kept and her style, although old, is still fresh, vibrant and clean. The cabins have some older décor and furnishings but again everything is well kept, clean and tidy. We really couldn't fault anything when it came to upkeep and cleanliness. Her size is kind of ideal really as she is not too big that you find it difficult to walk from one side to the other, but she is big enough that you feel like areas on board are spaced out enough and you don't feel too cramped in public spaces.
Our balcony was at the very front of the ship, the most forward balcony you can get. It was very small and enclosed, not a lot of room to move around. We didn't pick this room, we actually participated in a Royal Up program and bid on this room category. Once the bid was approved we don't get to choose the room we get, they pick it for us. Although we probably wouldn't have paid as much as we ended up paying for this room, we still enjoyed it and had a great time. The cabin was spacious enough, the bed was huge and really comfortable, always had a great nights sleep and the sound of the waves crashing at night was superb.
The activities on board are fantastic. There is so much to do! Ice skating, the Ice Odyssey show, water slides, flow rider, rock climbing, trivia, game shows, comedians, casino, several bars to choose from. You will never be short of something to do on this ship. You can also walk right around the ship and even out to the very front on the Helipad to get a "Titanic Moment".
Our time on board was fantastic. We had an amazing time! The staff were wonderful and our favourite bar tenders at the R Bar were just a hoot to be around. Our house steward Roberto was just brilliant, such a nice guy and our room was always spotless.
We recommend you come and try a cruise on Voyager of the Seas whilst she is still sailing from Brisbane. You will not be disappointed.
If you have sailed on Voyager of the seas let us know in the comments what you thought of your time on board. We would love to know your thoughts.
