Today we’re sharing a very special moment as we sail through the Antarctic Convergence — the natural boundary where colder Antarctic waters meet warmer northern seas. It’s a subtle but powerful transition, marked by a noticeable temperature drop, changing sea color, and the nutrient-rich waters that support krill, whales, and the entire Antarctic ecosystem. From the deck of the ship, you can actually see the difference as the water darkens the farther south we go. We talk about what the convergence means, what the conditions are like today, and how this part of the journey feels as we continue our crossing of the Drake Passage. While this is still considered the “Drake Shake,” conditions have been very manageable, and everyone in our group is doing well. This is one of those moments that’s hard to describe — quiet, beautiful, and deeply meaningful.
