This Disney Cruise Line vlog begins as the Disney Destiny docks at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas. We head down the pier to the tram station at Mabrika Cove and take the shuttle into the island to explore Disney’s newest private island destination. Along the way I share tips for visiting Lookout Cay including what to bring ashore, where to refill water bottles and the best ways to get around the island.
We explore the family beach area, walk along the elevated pathways through the tropical landscape and take the nature trail to the historic lighthouse that gives Lighthouse Point its name. The beaches here are famous for their pink sand and incredibly clear water, and we take time to enjoy the scenery before heading to the Goombay Cultural Center where guests can watch the Junkanoo celebration with music, dancing and appearances from Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
For lunch we visit Serenity Bay barbecue where Disney Cruise Line serves a wide selection of island barbecue favourites and sides with beautiful ocean views. After lunch we relax by the beach before browsing the shops on the island including Disney Tings and Treasures of Eleuthera, which features locally made items from artisans on the island.
Back on board the Disney Destiny we stop by Cove Café in the adults only area before getting ready for Pirate Night. Gary reveals his homemade pirate themed costume and we explore some of the pirate merchandise available on the ship before heading to the upper decks for Mickey and Minnie’s Pirates in the Caribbean show followed by Disney Cruise Line’s famous fireworks at sea.
Later in the evening we return to 1923 for dinner before sharing some tips about gratuities and how Disney Cruise Line distributes service charges among your stateroom host and dining team.
The following morning is our final sea day aboard the Disney Destiny. We start the day with breakfast before exploring more areas of the ship including the Oceaneer Club entrance and the onboard shops in Mickey’s Mainsail. I also pick up prizes for an upcoming Moooorning Club Patreon competition.
One of the highlights of the final day is seeing Hercules: The Musical in the Walt Disney Theatre. After the show we share our thoughts on the production, the cast performances and how it compares with other Disney Cruise Line stage shows.
We finish the cruise with a relaxing evening on board, including room service, lounge entertainment and one last dinner before sitting down together for our full trip report of the Disney Destiny. We share our highlights from the cruise, thoughts on the Heroes and Villains theme of the ship, favourite dining experiences and feedback on the onboard entertainment.
