It's the final day of our Alaska cruise adventure, and we’ve docked at our last port—Victoria, Canada! We had high hopes for this stop, expecting the famous Canadian friendliness, but what we experienced took us by surprise… Earlier in the day, while still at sea, we had an unforgettable whale-watching experience, witnessing multiple breaches right from the cruise ship! It was an incredible way to wrap up this amazing journey. In Victoria, we explored the town, did some shopping, met up with friends, and grabbed dinner. But instead of warm welcomes, we ran into rude customer service and uncomfortable interactions that made us rethink our expectations. As you will see, we are sailing with a group known as Melanin at Sea. This group was created for people of various backgrounds, skin tones, and nationalities to discuss and celebrate our love for cruising the 7 seas. The founders of this group, @aRICHandJAZZYLife, work very hard to ensure we always have a fantastic time and plan plenty of events so that we may fellowship and enjoy one another on multiple occasions throughout the cruise.
