CARNIVAL TRANSATLANTIC CRUISE DAY 10! 🚢 What Santa Cruz REALLY looks like...(Walk with us!)

Welcome to Day 10 of our transatlantic crossing on the Carnival Mardi Gras! 🤩 We've just embarked on the stunning Tenerife island and decided to do a DIY walking tour of Santa Cruz. We'll show you how easy it is to get from the cruise port to the city center, and give you an unfiltered look at some of the most iconic spots! Is the city safe? What about getting around? We'll cover all that and more! 🚶‍♀️☀️ Safety First: Santa Cruz is a very safe city, but as always, it's wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded tourist areas. In this video, you'll see our journey to: Plaza de España: The largest square in the city and all of the Canary Islands, known for its beautiful artificial lake and monumental structure. Did you know the remains of the historic Castillo de San Cristóbal are housed in an underground gallery here? Cabildo Insular de Tenerife: The island's governing body, with a building next to the Plaza de España that features an iconic clock tower. It's a symbol of the city! Iglesia de la Concepción: Also called the "Cathedral of Santa Cruz" (though it's not a cathedral!), this church houses a relic of St. Clement I and the cross that founded the city. Mercado de Nuestra Señora de África (La Recova): We explore this bustling market, named for the patron saint of Ceuta, a Spanish city in Africa. It's a feast for the senses! Parque García Sanabria: The largest urban park in the Canary Islands, complete with a large floral clock from Switzerland and the famous fountain with the statue "La Fecundidad." Tenerife's Capital: Santa Cruz and Las Palmas (on Gran Canaria) are the co-capitals of the Canary Islands! Some facts about the Carnival Mardi Gras: Built for Adventure: The Mardi Gras is one of Carnival's Excel-class ships, known for its sheer size and unique features. The Mardi Gras is one of the world's first cruise ships to be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), making it more environmentally friendly. What do you think?
