The Truth About The End Of My 1000 Miles Danube Cruise

After cruising don the Danube from Vienna, I finally reached the Black Sea at Constanta, Romania. Eight days ago I boarded a river cruise ship in Vienna with one goal: paddle in the Black Sea. Through Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, and Bulgaria, and Romania more than 1000 miles took me to this moment - standing on Romanian soil at the edge of the Black Sea in Constanta. Constanta surprised me. Romania's oldest continuously inhabited city and largest port on the Black Sea, it blends Roman ruins with Orthodox grandeur and seaside charm. The city feels authentically Romanian - not polished for tourists, but real and lived-in. Then came the moment I'd been waiting for since Vienna: paddling in the Black Sea. But it proved to be not quite the culmination of a journey I had hoped for. After this, there was wine. A traditional Romanian wine tasting at a local establishment where hospitality means generosity.
