Bright idea or flawed design? My first impressions of Sun Princess

I’ve been on Princess’ newest class of ship for a week now and I must admit I have very mixed feelings. On one hand, they’ve made many overdue improvements to their cabins with shower doors and couches now standard and they’ve introduced some dramatic spaces like a wider and brighter piazza and the dome pool lounge and performance space…but these changes have come at a heavy cost. The ship’s layout is very confusing with more dead ends than ever, the Dome is closed half the time to setup for evening shows that are very hard to get into. And fundamental spaces like the main theatre and gym have shrunk compared to previous classes even though this class accommodates 1,000 plus more guests.
