Day 6 of our Croatian yacht cruise with Riviera Travel brought one of the most beautiful destinations of the entire itinerary, the historic island town of Korčula.
After another stunning swim stop in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, we sailed into the harbour where dozens of small yachts line the waterfront. This is one of the biggest advantages of small ship cruising, docking right in the heart of incredible destinations.
In this video we explore Korčula’s narrow medieval streets, take an included walking tour packed with history, climb the famous ladder to the Masimo Cocktail Bar tower, and enjoy incredible views across the Adriatic.
Later in the evening we experience what dining ashore on a yacht cruise is really like, discovering local Croatian food, wine and live music in one of the most charming towns in the Adriatic.
Small ship cruising is a completely different experience compared with large cruise ships, fewer passengers, more personal service, and the ability to visit beautiful ports that bigger ships simply can't reach.
If you're considering a Riviera Travel yacht cruise in Croatia, this video shows exactly what a day on board is really like, from swim stops and lunch on board to exploring incredible islands like Korčula.

Disclosure:
We were kindly invited onboard by Riviera Travel to experience their Southern Croatia Yacht Cruise with Bosnia and Herzegovina land tour. Riviera Travel had no editorial input, and as always, our thoughts and opinions are entirely our own.
This Riviera Travel holiday combines a seven-night Adriatic yacht cruise with a three-night escorted land tour through Bosnia & Herzegovina. The journey begins in Dubrovnik, where you board a small, four-star yacht accommodating around 40 guests, offering an intimate and relaxed alternative to large cruise ships.
Sailing along Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, the itinerary includes historic ports such as Korčula, Hvar, Split, Pučišća and Mljet. Guided walking tours introduce the history and culture of each destination, while free time allows independent exploration. The cruise also features scenic sailing, swim stops in clear waters and opportunities to enjoy the surrounding islands and national parks. Meals onboard include daily breakfast and lunch, plus a Captain’s Dinner.
After disembarkation, the journey continues inland into Bosnia & Herzegovina. Highlights include the waterfalls of Kravice, the UNESCO-listed bridge in Mostar and the historic city of Sarajevo, where East meets West culturally and architecturally. The tour also visits Trebinje and local landmarks, providing insight into the region’s history and traditions.
With flights, transfers, accommodation, guided tours and many meals included, the itinerary offers a comprehensive way to experience both the Croatian coastline and the Balkans beyond the Adriatic.
We are Tom and Dom and we experienced our first cruise on the MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021.Our mission is provide a fair and balanced review of our travels.
We look at the types of food that is available onboard, from main dining rooms, room service, buffets and pool side snacks. We include menus for each of cruises so that we can share the selection of drinks and meals that are available. Entertainment onboard a cruise ship is important to us and we enjoy theatre production shows, live music, quizzes and game shows. We love to explore different ports and destinations and enjoy sharing tips and tricks so that you can make the most of each port. We often explore ports independently but also book excursions that are interesting to us.
