I'm getting excited because Australian cruising is starting to open up again.
I have got a couple of exciting pieces of news.
If you haven't already heard what could be in addition to Australia opening up on their cruises today being the 14th of may!
New Zealand have just said that they will open to cruise ships from august 31 (2022).
So all of those summer cruises will be able to happen.
If you have booked on those, you can be rest assured, we are one step closer to those cruises with Australian cruising open up.
I know I am one of a lot of people who are trying to catch up on their cruising.
I am not being privileged enough to at the moment to book back-to-backs.
I know some people have.
So Princess have indicated, about three weeks ago, on their information that cabins would have to be packed up and luggage moved out so it can be deep cleaned and decontaminated.
Where yesterday P&O have just indicated that you have to disembark and get a PCR test or a covid test on the dock before coming (back on board).
They didn't indicate that you needed to remove your luggage out of your room, if you're doing the same state room. But don't know what would happen if you're moving state rooms.
When cruising does open up we have to remain flexible.
Things are going to change all the time.
So if we're asked to wear masks, which we will be on embarkation and disembarkation and some of the more crowded areas, let's just do it.
Let's wear some colourful masks.
Let's coordinate our mask to our clothes.
Let's do whatever it needs to do to make cruising happen.
Also we've also got to be flexible because things are going to change.
So we might just have to give ourselves an extra bit of time when we're making our transfers etc. just in case.
I know that they're going to try and streamline the process of embarkation and disembarkation.
But you just never know so give yourself a little bit of leeway and extra time in your transfers.
My most exciting news for this Saturday the 14th of May (2022) is Coral Princess is on her way. She is going to be doing the a Panama Canal cruise before she does the Trans-Pacific.
She arrives here in Australia about June 7 (2022).
So she's actually going to arrive about a week earlier and into Brisbane so the 16th of June cruise.
It is all systems go!
Booked paid
Insurance - done.
Parking paid for now.
I've just (have to) figure out what I'm going to be wearing.
Exciting times ahead.
I am trying to bring you up to date with any news that's happening here in Australia and abroad for travel and cruising.
Stay safe everybody and happy travels
