Norwegian Breakaway | Mediterranean Cruise Day 4 | Florence | Cathedral | Piazzale | Dining at Savor

Welcome to Day 4 of our 11 day holiday on board Norwegian Cruise Line's Breakaway cruise ship! We're Bob and Moose, a couple of Disney-obsessed adventurers from Yorkshire, UK, who just love to get out and about and explore! 👀 On the cruise, we travelled to: Cannes, Livorno (Florence), Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples (Pompeii), Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca. We started and ended the trip in the stunning city of Barcelona! On Day 4, we ate breakfast at the Garden Cafe buffet on board (greeted as always by the singing crew!). We then headed out into Livorno, which is where the ship was docked, and boarded our bus to Florence. We booked this separately to Norwegian excursions, using a company called Shore Excursions that we used a number of times when we worked for Disney Cruise Line and travelled to Livorno. Our tour included a Hop-On-Hop-Off tour of Florence, which we did before walking to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. This is one of the most beautiful buildings we have ever seen - it literally stunned us into silence! We went into the cathedral too and would highly recommend doing so if you are visiting Florence. We then continued walking around Florence and walked up the hill to Piazzale Michelangelo, where we saw stunning views of the city. We walked across the Ponte Vecchio (a bridge with shops on it that project out above the water!) and of course had to buy some gelato 😋 When we returned to the ship, we had a little snack before watching the comedian in the Breakaway Theatre (watch the vlog to see our honest review...).
