Day 1 of our Hebrides Cruises Lucy Mary three day Inner Hebridean adventure began in the scenic coastal town of Oban, Scotland. With time to spare before our 3pm embarkation, we explored Oban and soaked up the views before returning to board the Lucy Mary. At 3pm we stepped aboard and received a warm welcome with friendly introductions to the crew, a glass of bubbles and freshly baked scones. After the safety briefing we were shown to our cabins and we were genuinely blown away by the comfort and elegance of the accommodation. Soon after, Lucy Mary set sail for a secluded anchorage where we would spend the night. The crossing was slightly rocky but the scenery was breathtaking as we passed island after island. That evening we enjoyed a delicious three course dinner paired with wine and followed by cheese. The perfect end to our first day. We then joined the captain to hear the exciting plan for day two of this unforgettable Scottish island adventure. Guests may sail around Mull and its offshore isles, visit the Small Isles, including Muck, Eigg, Rum and Canna, or head further out to iconic and more remote locations like St Kilda. “mini-cruises”, for example three-night escapes, explore calm sea lochs, sea lochs, castles, lighthouses and sheltered anchorages, where dolphins, otters, eagles and other wildlife are often sighted. On longer cruises, there are opportunities for guided shore-walks, kayaking, paddle-boarding, or simply enjoying the ever-changing seascape from deck or saloon, all while savouring locally sourced meals prepared onboard. We are Tom and Dom and we experienced our first cruise on the MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021.Our mission is provide a fair and balanced review of our travels.
