NCL Jade Ocean View Room Tour - 5008

Join me for a full tour and honest review of Oceanview Stateroom 5008 on Deck 5 of the Norwegian Jade (NCL Jade). This cabin is technically an oceanview room, but it shares the same layout as an inside stateroom — just with the bonus of a window and a surprising amount of space. In this video, I walk you through every part of the room so you know exactly what to expect if you’re thinking about booking this cabin: Bed & Layout: Large bed made from two twins pushed together, plenty of room to move around, and an oceanview window. Each side of the bed has a nightstand with storage cubes and built-in USB charging. Storage Everywhere: A dressing area with multiple cabinets and shelves, a stool with hidden storage, extra shelving, and tons of little nooks to stash your stuff. This is easily one of the largest “inside-style” layouts I’ve ever had on any ship. Closet & Safe: A standing wardrobe with lots of hanging space (20+ hangers), life jackets stored up top, multiple storage cubes, and an in-room safe. Mini-Fridge & Desk Area: Dometic fridge pre-stocked with items that are automatically charged if you take them, plus a desk area with standard outlets, a USB outlet, room service menu, phone, and TV. Bathroom Tour: Classic cruise ship vacuum toilet, sink with storage underneath, included soaps, tissues, and a door-style shower (no curtain!) with a swimsuit drying rack, shelves, and a rain-style shower head. I’m about 6'0" and 220 lbs and had no problem fitting or moving around in the bathroom or shower. I also share my honest experience with cleanliness issues on this sailing. While the room layout and storage are excellent, I ran into real problems with: Old or stained bed sheets on arrival Noticeable stains on the floor Having to repeatedly ask for the room to be properly cleaned over several days For a 20-year-old ship, the stateroom itself is holding up pretty well in terms of design and function. Without the cleanliness problems, this would easily have been a 5/5 oceanview cabin for me. But I can’t ignore those issues, and they did bring my overall rating of this room — and this part of the cruise — down.
