Princess Cruise Road Trip | H-E-B | Super 8 Wyndham | Galveston, TX

What a day! On December 28, 2024 we drove for 7 hours from Biloxi, MS to Galveston, TX to spend the night before our cruise the next day on the Regal Princess. As well as visit H-E-B grocery store and stay at Super 8 motel. On our way there we explored a very cool rest area in Texas right on the i10 border with Louisiana. There's a large Texas star sculpture outside of the rest area. There are actually quite a few things you can do there. They have a large amount of brochures of things to do as well as a huge deck walkway which is perfect for stretching your legs after a long drive. A lot of animals live in that swamp beneath the deck and we even saw a large alligator! So cool! Our second stop was at the H-E-B grocery store. It was Adam's first time visiting it. It's fantastic! They even give out food samples. And the selection of products is enormous! Finally we ended our trip at the Super 8 by Wyndham motel on 61st Street in Galveston, TX. The room was very clean and the price was $40-$50 less than the other motels we usually stay in. Early next morning I got up to grab some Starbucks coffee and drove to watch the ships come in and watch the sunrise. The breakfast offered at Super 8 was limited to only orange juice, coffee, tea, and a small blueberry muffin. But all were good!
