I've just come back from my SECOND cruise with the British cruise line Marella Cruises on their ship Marella Discovery. My cabin was a balcony cabin on deck 6 - cabin #6020 - and was towards the front of the ship. In fact you can see the captain steering the ship from the balcony because this cabin has a great view of the bridge and my video shows just that! This video offers a full cabin tour and inside look of my cabin and looks at the bed, the pillows, the storage, hanging space, the bathroom, the balcony, the value for money offered by the cruise line as well as all the plug sockets and other amenities offered. This ship is nearly 30 years old but it has been recently renovated and the bathroom of this cabin was significantly better than the last. And great news, the shower has glass doors instead of the shower curtains some of the inside cabins have. This cabin and indeed the whole ship is amazing, especially considering its age. And the good value it offers is superb - a lot of people on the cruise were repeat customers and I'm not surprised. It's a British cruise line so of course there's a kettle in the room and the tea was a good, strong brew: Yorkshire tea. Top marks Marella! and they still leave chocolates on the bed at night, a lovely touch which many other cruise lines have done away with...This cabin saw a refurbishment as recently as 2022 which is why it's in such good, modern condition. There are now USB charging sockets too...
Top Tip: I really liked having a cabin on Deck 6 as Deck 6 also has the coffee bar called The Coffee Port on it. If you have the Premium Package you can get free tea or coffee and take it back to your cabin. It's like having your own personal cafe on your deck! Even if you don't have the Premium Package the tea and coffee isn't expensive to purchase...
